Pak PM Felicitates Officer for ‘Destroying’ S-400; PM Modi’s Visit Proves System Intact
Islamabad/New Delhi: Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has awarded Wing Commander Malik Rizwan-Ul-Haq Iftikhar for allegedly “destroying” India’s S-400 air defence system during Operation Sindoor.
India dismissed the claim, pointing to visuals from May when Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited the Adampur Air Base in Punjab. During his address to soldiers, an S-400 system stood intact in the background, indicating it was unharmed and operational.
Indian defence officials said the S-400 played a critical role in foiling Pakistan’s attempted strikes on both military installations and civilian targets during the operation. “The system remained fully operational and effective,” an official source said.
The episode has sparked debate over the accuracy of Pakistan’s battlefield claims, while India has framed the incident as evidence of its air defence resilience and deterrence.
